Integrated crop system

CastorMaxx© is an integrated castor cultivation system pioneered by Kaiima, that combines first-class hybrid seeds with advanced, large-scale growing protocols, enabling growers to scale-up castor farming and achieve breakthrough bean and oil yield potential.

The CastorMaxx© system optimizes production through customized and scalable solutions – sustainably and economically producing castor oil as a renewable feedstock for the high-value, bio-based products industry.

The CastorMaxx© platform is an industry-leading castor production system that drives castor productivity to new heights. CastorMaxx© hybrids offer game-changing yield and benefits to growers.  The platform is supported by experts in breeding, crop management and research aimed to customize castor farming to fit the needs of each individual market.

Breeding

Genetics at the heart of the system

  • Hybrid for rainfed and irrigated crops;
  • Early and super-early hybrids;
  • Compact architecture and high density with high performance;
  • High oil content;
  • Botrytis tolerance;
  • Potential for 2 harvests per year;
  • High yield potential (over 3,000 kg/ha) under ideal growing conditions and following Kaiima’s planting, harvesting and management protocols;
  • Uniform hybrids in appearance and maturity;
  • Suitable for mechanized harvesting.

Crop management

Agronomic Protocols

  • Sowing and population recommendations;
  • Fertilization;
  • Insect and disease management;
  • Irrigation recommendations;
  • Harvest and post-harvest;

Access to the protocols is provided upon request to the Kaiima team – for more information please contact info@kaiima.com.

Breakthrough grain yield and oil content

Next generation of hybrid selection and launching:

  • 2022: Kariel
  • 2023: KS 2030, KS 2019
  • 2025: KS 2135 and KS 2136.

The breeding program seeks constant improvements in productivity, increase in oil content, greater resistance to diseases and shorter crop cycle.

Harvesting

All Kaiima hybrids are suitable for mechanized harvesting. There are three models of harvesting platform in Brazil:

Harvesting header

6-12 lines
50, 76 and 100 cm spacing
Harvesting speed: 7-8 Km/h
Requires threshing system
